Through My Lens~ A "Spring" Walk

It's amazing how life changes! Why do I make such a statement? Well it's because I realize that if I was back home in Georgia this post would probably be titled, "A Snowy Walk" or "Look! We Got Snow!". ;) I would be happily showing you these photos after a rare snowfall had occurred during the winter season. In the South this would never be considered spring time with snow on the ground but up here, in Ontario, this is spring! While my family back home have already put on their sandals, t-shirts, and even shorts, I'm rejoicing over some warmer temps{very slight warmer temps}. The warmer temperature allowed me to go for a walk outside a few days ago. Although I still had to wear a warm, thick jacket and head-band; I didn't have to worry about my feet freezing in the snow! ;) Hurrah! My little walk allowed me to have some much needed exercise and fresh air too. I found a "creek"{actually I think it was some kind of water drainage system} but creek sounds nicer! ;) I also got to play around with my camera, hence the various picture's exposures. I love my camera; a Canon PowerShot SX170 IS, which I was able to get before leaving for my travels. It's a point and shoot but allows me to adjust certain things like aperture, shudder speed, and the exposure. I don't know much about cameras so it's a great introduction for me...that is until I learn more about photography and upgrade to my "dream camera"! ;) I love taking pictures of nature and finding the "creek" was a perfect opportunity for doing just that! One of my favorites is the close up of the moss and ice or maybe it's the one with the shopping cart; just because I wasn't expecting to find it there! Which one's yours?! Speaking of camera's I just won an amazing giveaway. What did I win? This cool ONA camera bag! So super excited to have such an awesome bag in my possession...well that is whenever I actually receive it in the mail! :) I'm trusting that one day I'll be able to put my dream camera inside it! =D Hope you enjoyed these photos!

    1. Thanks for the sweet comment! If you mean the prickly looking things; I'm not sure what they are! They look pretty neat though! ;) I'm guessing their what's left of a some dried flower!

  3. Sarah, I love taking photos! But unfortunately I lack a camera. Hopefully someday soon that fact will change. My favorite kind of photos are no doubt sunsets and macro shots of nature. :)

Your hat is adorable, by the way. I hope you had a happy Easter!

    1. Thank you, Danielle! The hat was made by a friend of mine. Yes I had a lovely Easter! I can relate to loving to take photos but not having a camera! My first camera stopped working for no reason after about 4 years. I was left camera-less for quite awhile and would borrow my parents camera whenever I could! That is also the reason I have no photos of my own while I was in TN; I had to borrow other's pictures for those posts about TN! ;) Hoping and praying that you will own a camera soon too! =D

  4. It rained all night here, and is beautiful today. The sun is out, and there are big, billowy, dark clouds in the sky.
I love taking photos, but mostly nature.
I have actually won several giveaways. The most recent was the Kellie Falconer tulle skirt. It's gorgeous!

  5. Beautiful shots Sarah! :D I thought they were taken with an DSLR. I like the leaf close-up, peeking through trees and the 4th from the bottom.
As you probably know by now, I enjoy photography. Natural objects are my favorite subjects. And It's always fun to combine exercise and photography.

    1. Thank you so much, Paige! Will take the DSLR comment as a compliment! ;) Once again, I couldn't agree more that nature is one of the best things to photograph! Yes I love being able to exercise and take photos at the same time! ;)

  6. Today the weather is cloudy and cold where I am but should be warming up soon! We don't have anymore snow and I am thankful for that. It had snowed on the first day of spring!! i was surprised to see the shopping cart in the creek. I had to check again where you said you were because I took a walk by a creek near my old house just a few days ago and it had the very same style shopping cart in it! These photos are beautiful! I have the same exact camera but haven't learned to use it as well as you yet!

    1. Haha! That's too funny that you and I both saw shopping carts in creeks! Thanks for the sweet comment too, Jill! It's neat we have the same camera...great minds think alike! ;) And I'm sure you will discover and learn how to take better photos with your camera! I simply learned by playing with different settings! That's what I love about digital; if I take a bad photo then I can just delete it! :)
